Stuffing Dog Treats  (this is a soft treat)

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup plain bread crumbs
1 tbsp. dried parsley
2 cups pure pumpkin (not pie filling)
2 eggs, lightly beaten
4 ounce jar of turkey baby food, organic is best
1 cup of warm water

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, breadcrumbs, and dried parsley.
In a small bowl stir the pumpkin, eggs, turkey baby food, and warm water together until combined.
Make a well in the flour and pour in the turkey mixture.
Stir until combined. The mixture will be very moist.
Spray a baking sheet with non-stick baking spray.
Scoop turkey and stuffing dog treats with a 1 inch cookie scooper onto the baking sheet.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Turn off the oven and let sit for another 30 minutes.

Homemade Potato Balls
Ingredients:
1 cups mashed potatoes
1 medium shredded carrot
1 egg yolk
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
With a fork, combine the mashed potatoes and shredded. Mix in egg yolk.
Form the potato mixture into about 2 dozen miniature balls.
Place potato balls on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
Let cool fully... then let your dog enjoy!

Sweet Potato Chew

Ingredients:

1 Large Sweet Potato, washed & dried

Directions:
Preheat oven to 250° F
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut off one side of the sweet potato lengthwise, as close to the edge as possible. Cutting the side of the potato first allows you to then turn the potato onto this flat surface that you have just created. Having a stable area to rest the potato will make it easier to cut the potato into slices. Don't discard that first piece, it comes out just as yummy as the rest!
Cut the rest of the potato into 1/3" slices, no smaller than 1/4".
Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 3 hours, turning half way through.
Cool completely on a wire rack.

Storing :
Although these treats are dried, you will want to keep them in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks. You can freeze them for up to 4 months.

Green Beans

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 140 degrees F.
Spray cooking sheet with cooking spray.
Open and place green beans in single layer on cooking sheet.
Place green-bean cookie sheet on the middle shelf of the oven. Prop the oven door open two to three inches.
Test green beans' readiness in four hours. Green-bean treats will be ready when they are crisp and crunchy. Remove green beans that are ready and place them in a bowl for cooling.
Keep testing, removing and rotating every hour until all green beans are done.
When green beans that have been cooling reach room temperature, put in an airtight container.

    Pumpkin Carob Drop Dog Treats

    Ingredients:
One 15 oz. can mashed pure pumpkin. Such as Libby's.(not spiced)
3/4 cup cream of wheat (or rice cereal if your dog is sensitive to wheat)
    1/2 cup dry powdered milk
    Unsweetened Carob Chips
    Directions:
    Preheat oven to 300 F.
    Mix all ingredients together.
Using an inexpensive pastry bag (available at your grocery store) or a baggie with a corner cut off, make 1-1/2 to 2 inch swirls or rosettes onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
In the center of each swirl drop a carob chip. Treats come out soft and slightly chewy.

Bake at 300 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

  • And there you have it...
everything for a Thanksgiving Feast! :D
